WHAT THE FIVE PASTORS ARE DOING by Shirley Charlton
Moni Tsalni Bwino
All of the Pastors we support plant new churches, follow up on new Christians, teach and preach. They go to Prisons to share clothes and soap, as well as the gospel. They also go to the hospitals in their areas and share their food with patients, as no food is provided in these two places. When people ask why they do this, they tell them about the love of Jesus. It is not unusual for 8 to 18 people to come to faith after the Pastors have visited these places. I know all of them are flat out keeping up with new believers.
They share the gospel. Every one of the five have been chosen with lots of recommendations and care that they follow the teachings and are Preachers. Apart from Hassan, who never finished his studies and has gone back to Bible College (Baptist) this year to finish. We have had people going over to Malawi and encouraging them and all the visitors have been impressed by the work they are doing.
Pastors also look after the widows in their villages, sometimes re-roofing the straw roofs of their huts, or buying seed for them. The seed alows them to support themselves by selling vegetables in the Markets.
Our Pastors adopt orphans into their already large families. They have all bought and distributed Bibles from the small amount they receive from us ($120 per month). Please bare in mind that all the Pastors go from village to village, sometimes walking for hours and most of the village Christians cannot read, not even in their tribal language. We supplied bicycles to the first three Pastors, but we have not had enough to give a bicycle to Biston or Kennedy yet.
All the Pastors come under their own Churches and are answerable to do the Lords work.
