Papalala Za Ongwala (the wings of the Eagle)

All of the proceeds from the sale of Shirley's paintings go to the Eagle Wings Christian Family. Eagle Wings is Chiomba Nkhanga  in Chchewa.  Eagle Wings is made up of a very small group of Christians, who support five local Malawian missionaries and their families in their work. Eagle Wings is not a charity organisation, instead it aims to help Malawians to become self sufficient. https://www.facebook.com/wingsofmalawi/

Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.”

March 2026 Report from the North Image of Ekwenden Baptist Church.

Rev Steven and Pastor kestina Silungwe in Mzuzu. Written by Rev Steven .

The crops have survived the heavy rain.

For the past two weeks I have performed ministry activities as follows. On the 25th and 28th of February attending a pastoral conference with Pastor kestina my wife.

At Ekwenden Baptist training centre where I as chairperson presented a regional report. We had other commitment visiting the elderly from Chiputula and the city. We also visited a special southern Baptist Lady Elizabeth Phiri 80 years old. We raised money to gift her.

I have been busy preaching at my Church Eagle Wings Baptist Church and happy to report we have those wishing to be Baptized this Easter.

We also attended and conducted a funeral and the village head approached me after and commented how the message touched him and asked for a bible.

Some other false denominations have started to follow our Faith in Jesus.

Due to my heavy schedule I had to dedicate some church groups and bible study to my deacon whom I have mentor. I am proud of him.

We intend to show the Jesus film soon from Bethel house and beyond.

Rev Charles February 2026 in Blantyre

February 2026 Written by Rev Charles
I think the best way of spreading the gospel is through one on one evangelism, door to door evangelism, open air meeting, discipleship and supporting the people with Bibles.
As of now we haven't yet shown Jesus' firm. The weather was very bad on the planned dates. So are planning to have in March.
The motor bike is very beneficial to the ministry. I am saving both time and money when using the motor bike. I am able to reach both short and long distances easily.
Yes I have time with my family especially during family after every dinner. I and my wife we usually work together especially in ministry. We visit the members together, she teach women, we pray together in our prayer group, teaching and preaching in the church together.
I usually work hard to support my ministry like doing some businesses like farming. I usually use the little money I have to sacrifice for the progress of the ministry.
This year we are planning to plant churches of which the Chichewa Bibles are needed if funds will be available.
Yes the cost of living is very high. But I thank God that we are saving little by little. My prayer is to have enough piece of land for farming.
Yes we are praying for more believer to join and be committed with the word of God. I am also praying for the next intake to be enrolled.
I am praying for my children who will be writing examinations in June. In this year I have started discipleship class in the church and I plan to reach many people in different churches. The plan of starting masters is still on.
Our new members are steady.
