Papalala Za Ongwala (the wings of the Eagle)

All of the proceeds from the sale of Shirley's paintings go to the Eagle Wings Christian Family. Eagle Wings is Chiomba Nkhanga  in Chchewa.  Eagle Wings is made up of a very small group of Christians, who support five local Malawian missionaries and their families in their work. Eagle Wings is not a charity organisation, instead it aims to help Malawians to become self sufficient. https://www.facebook.com/wingsofmalawi/

Isaiah 40:31 “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint.”

Feeding the Hungry

Friday
Jun242016

Dear Shirley,
Firstly, I want to thank you for the support you are giving us. I have received more funds amounting to K175 000.00, indeed this is a lot of money. I will distribute more maize to the needy families in the following next week.
Attached are the photos showing the first distribution of maize to the neediest families. It is about six families. I distributed 200 kilograms of maize. As you can see in some photos, I have held a basin containing the food that was being expected to be eaten on that day after these needy families failed to get food. Indeed, it is big problem to get maize here because the ADMARC has been closed due to confusion that has been aroused there. The food I am distributing is being bought from the vendors and it is very expensive. That is why it takes so long for me to get the food. To say about these families, it so sad that they are struggling to get food to feed their families. The message they have sent is that of praising God because they were not expecting this thing to happen to them.
Continue to pray for Hassan’s wife, things are not good in  their family. His wife is still very sick, so it will be very difficult for him to send you the reports about the distribution of food.
Finally, I will communicate with you as we continue working towards helping these needy families. May good God bless you abundantly.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Julius. (Missionary Eagle Wings)

Update from Biston

Sunday
May012016

Pastor Julius Damson thanking us for support to those in need.

Dear Shirley,

I hope you are fine, we are fine as well but few days ago my Wife Elida was malaria attacked, but we thank God that she is now fine

It’s only that Hassan Wife is sick; her problem is that when she eats anything, she vomits. Remember us in prayers for this because she has been taken to hospital but no problem was identified yet.

We really Praise God so much for the breakthrough which has led to the once off donation.

I know very well and for sure that our main line of business is to spread the gospel and reach out to people in remote areas.  We thank God that you have been faithful and supportive to the work of God here in Malawi .

We should really ask God for wisdom as to how we can handle this out and implement the donations.

Finally, we need to thank God for Judy for what she is doing by giving her money to the work of God , I know she has been meeting a lot of challenges but still he is still standing with the lord and assist us.

It is my prayer that one year she will come to Nsanje that we shall be able to chart with her face to face.

God bless you all in Jesus name,

Your Brother In Christ

Julius

Needing Rain

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

In Eagle Wings ministry, I hope you began this year of 2016 very well, and it is our prayer that Lord will be with you, giving you strength, prosperity and wisdom throughout the year.

I am writing this email to ask you for more prayers due to the situation we are facing here. Last year we had floods all over but this year we are facing another hard situation of drought. As I am saying in this email, many people planted their crops several times due to very low rainfall. I have attached photos so that you can see, some of the photos were taken on 14th and 15th January 2016. So stand with us in prayers that rain should come, otherwise the dry spell will cause a lot of problems in many families. As I am sending you this email, prices of maize is K300.00 per Kilogram. Imagine, this is very bad, and at ADMARC, where many people buy maize at low price, there is no maize. Remember that the floods made the previous harvest to be very poor. This is the reason i am asking you to stand with us in prayer, because now the churches are affected already.

Due to devaluation of the Malawian currency the prices of basic needs have gone up. The packet of sugar that was used to be bought at K600.00 is now at K700.00 which is very hard to the most people to afford, and all the glossaries are being bought at high prices. Now life is becoming hard to all people.

Finally, I am wishing you all the best in the Year of 2016.

Your brother in Christ,

Pastor Julius
