Dear Shirley,

On the behalf of people of Nsanje, and my entire family. We want to appreciate for the support which you gave us. That was a lot of money; to me it was a hard time according to the situation.  But because of your support people here appreciated, and I appreciate for that. I was able to  buy buckets cooking pots and food and water and many items to help those that had nothing left.

Appreciate all those that have helped us on this issue, even though they don’t know me, even some of them never know where Nsanje is on the map.   But they have shown us a kind heart particularly to these people, I send my appreciation to them:

I was holding a baby which was born at the camp, but so sadly the mother to that child has just lost a husband and three other children through the floods on one day. Please pray specifically for her, this is Marka camp.

About flood funds you sent to me i have used all and i finished that work yesterday and this time around i was at Khuluvi camp where there are over three thousand flood victims.

I am sending the photos so that you should see and so that you can show the well-wishers who has helped us.

On that trip i had ten bails that contained clothes for all ages, two cartons of pots, and five hundred plates, fifteen bags of maize flour, each bag was weighing fifty kilogram.

Following the work that i have done in all the three camps namely Khuluvi,Mankhokwe and Marka, the leaders of the three camps have asked me to preach the word of God but the challenge i have now is that two camps namely Mankhokwe and Marka camps are very far from where i stay but i will manage to travel to one camp that is Khuluvi camp.And at Khuluvi and Mankhokwe there is no Baptist Church and this is the opportunity to open new branches of Baptist Church. To travel from where i stay to Marka or Mankhokwe its bicycle fare is three thousand kwacha per person and the bicycle i have is not in good condition to travel such a long distance.

Pray for me because on this Saturday i will start preaching at Khuluvi camp and its a hard time which people have met in their lifetime because up to now people are still crying for their relative who died because of the floods. I will go there to give them the word of hope.

Lastly, i want to thank you for your prayers and support in the very hard situation we have encountered here in Nsanje. And God bless abundantly.

Dear Shirley and Jude.  Relief Flood Report.

I hope you are fine, talking about us here, we are all fine.

Sorry for the late response, its because we have a problem of electricity, we normally get power at night during these rainy seasons. So it’s hard for Internet cafeterias to open with blackouts.

Up to date, we are still receiving heavy rains.

So my work was very hard to be done because of the rains that have been coming for several consecutive days.

Now I am happy to report that I have given food to many people according to the directions of the District Commissioner for Nsanje . I as well apologize that I had not taken some of the important photos which I was giving clothes.

On the Hurts, I did not build any because the things that were required as a priority was the food and clothes and also because of the continuous rains, and that people are still being accommodated in the tents.

I did not join with others, I did this as an Eagle wings ministry. What I did is that I was only forming committees which I was working with.

Biston is fine, but he hasn’t given me any information regarding floods for him, but his area (Bangwe) was affected by the floods.

I am trying off course that I utilize all the funds for the floods victims only.

The people that I supported were mixed up not targeting the church. And that I went to the village.

I hope I have answered all the questions, if there are any other questions, please let me know and answer them.

By Now I have remained with Mk100,000.00 which I would like to distribute to others. I do hope it will be next week.

The Floods in Malawi

The story floods in Malawi has shaken the economy of the country and put the nation at silent.

It is like that because the economy of Malawi relies on Agriculture, so due to this type of floods people will have no food and money just because people in Malawi get money after selling their produce.

SOME OF THE AREAS AFFECTED

Education:  Most of the schools are closed due to the floods; some of the teachers have also lost their lives. Some school children also lost their lives.

In addition to that some schools have closed because the government wanted to accommodate the floods victims.

Health:

In part of Health Most of the health centres particularly in  the affected ares are also closed which makes some health centres to be conjested because of people from the affected ares.

Roads:

Some roads are blocked due to floods which also makes it difficult for the help to reach out to people in the affected areas.

Development:

All the development projects which were planned are now stopped with the floods, it is like that because the government is using a lot of money to assist the flood victims.

so we have lots of areas affected by the floods but I have just mentioned a few

Districts Affected By Floods.

almost all district affected by floods in Malawi,but there are major districts affected very seriously mainly Nsanje, Chikwawa, Zomba,part of Blantyre, Lilongwe, Salima, Phalombe.  

But out of these 7 districts, Nsanje is taken to be the first district being affected with floods just because the water coming from all the affected districts are ending in Nsanje District.

at the mean time 85 thousand people are displaced by floods.

NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO DIED

At the moment, 185 people died in Nsanje district alone, 35 people were from Nyachikadza and Ndamera, and 150 were from Nsanje North.

NUMBER OF FLOOD VICTIMS FROM NYACHIKADZA

About 45,000 people were displaced in Nyachikadza and it is about 900 affected with floods. 

REQUEST

ü Pray for the victims, some of them are Baptist member mainly from Bangula. The church has been taken away by water, and members houses are also gone with their properties.

ü Other church affected is Marka, their houses and properties are as well gone.

We thank God that among our members affected, we haven’t lost any life.  

But pray for the other families as well which have lost their beloved due to the floods.
